Profession: Actress
Place/Date of Birth: New York, 02 July 1986

Lindsay eyes Wicked role? - April 25 2007
Lindsay Lohan is apparently keen to tread the boards on Broadway and wants to star in the musical Wicked.

The flame-haired actress is said to want the part of green witch Elphaba in the show, which is currently playing to packed audiences in London's West End.

"Lindsay saw it when she was last in London and would love to play the role," an insider told the Daily Star.

"She thinks it is a great part and knows it would go down a storm in New York. Theatre bosses in the Big Apple are keen to get Lindsay signed up to a variety of stage projects.

"They're regularly inundated with her fans asking them to get her treading the boards. She would be a big draw on Broadway."

The show originally opened on Broadway in October 2003, with Idina Menzel starring as Elphaba, and was promptly nominated for 10 Tony Awards. Idina picked up the Best Actress in a Musical gong for her performance.

Lindsay tells of rehab stint - April 19 2007

Actress Lindsay Lohan said she felt safe being in rehab for a drink problem, but did not consider herself an addict.

The 20-year-old told Allure Magazine during an interview in its May issue that she decided to enter the secluded Wonderland Centre, an addiction treatment facility, at the suggestion of her therapist.

"It’s so weird that I went to rehab. I always said I would die before I went to rehab," Lindsay said.

Her room was "all white, with a parquet, and it was different! I just felt safe", the actress said. "I thought, I’m going to stay here tonight. And I stayed there. For a month. It was great."

Lindsay said in January that she had checked into the centre. Her publicist Leslie Sloane Zelnick confirmed in December that she was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

But the star of Mean Girls and Freaky Friday told Allure: "I don’t know that I’m necessarily an addict."

On her fractured family past, Lindsay laments that she had to intervene in fights between her mother Dina and father Michael, now divorced, while growing up.

Her estranged father was released from a New York state prison last month after serving almost two years for driving while intoxicated and other charges.

"I feel like a second parent in the sense that I helped raise my family," she said of her younger brother Michael, 19, sister Ali, 13, and brother Dakota, 10.

"When my friends and family are around me, I feel like they’re safe. No matter what happens, we’re going to be fine."

Lindsay: They’re not safe without me - April 19 2007

Lindsay Lohan apparently claims she acts as something of a protector to her friends and family.

The Mean Girls actress, infamous for her relentless partying, says she fears for their well-being when she’s not around, according to the New York Post.

In an interview with Allure magazine, she reportedly said: "When my friends and family are around me I feel like they’re safe... When my friends have left me - I’ve just seen everything collapse. They’re not safe without me."

The 20-year-old also discussed her recent stint in rehab, apparently expressing surprise that she ever ended up there.

"It’s so weird that I went to rehab," she’s quoted as saying. "I always said I would die before I went to rehab."... read more

Lindsay Dee Lohan was born on July 2 1986 in New York.  It may be hard to remember when we see photos of a scantily clad Lohan out on the town with pals like Paris Hilton and Kate Moss but it wasn’t so long ago that she was a sweet faced child star.

Born to a wealthy family Lindsay was nonetheless put to work from an early age.  At three she was signed to a modelling agency and quickly built up a portfolio of work with the likes of Toys R Us and Calvin Klein Kids.  As a teen she appeared in numerous magazines such as Elle Girl and Bliss and in television commercials for Jell-O among others.

At ten years of age Lindsay bagged a role on American soap Another World which she soon abandoned when offered a big screen part in the remake of The Parent Trap in which she played twins.  The part brought her to the attention of filmmakers throughout Hollywood and ensured future parts would roll on in.

Made for TV movies and a short lived sitcom part followed before Lindsay, then sixteen, was offered another cult remake - Freaky Friday - alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.  Two further teen flicks followed, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and the Clueless-esque Mean Girls.  The success of the two movies cemented Lindsay’s status as Teen Queen.  Closely followed by Herbie: Fully Loaded Lindsay hoped to make the transition to adult film star smoothly however 2006’s Just My Luck was not well received.  More serious roles are set to follow in Georgia Rule, Speechless, A Woman of No Importance and The Best Time of Our Lives.

As well as acting Lindsay had taken the opportunity to showcase her musical skills in her films and before long she was taken under the wing of Mariah Carey’s ex Tommy Mottola.  Her debut album, Speak, was released in 2004 with the single Rumours earning critical acclaim.  2005’s A Little More Personal included a dramatically intimate track aimed at her father who had spent much of Lindsay’s life in prison.  She is currently working on a third album.

Since 2003 Lindsay has been regular tabloid fodder beginning with a rumoured feud with fellow teen actress Hilary Duff.  Her weight has been a serious issue, with the actress admitting that she had ’nearly died’, before dedicating herself to getting her shape back.  She has also gained the reputation of girl about town, partying hard with the likes of Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton whilst dealing with a run of bad luck which has included three car crashes and some rumoured illnesses.
