Top marks for clubbing in Oxford feature
That bit of the night has arrived when it’s ‘make or break’ time. Through beer-goggled eyes you can just about make out that the big hand is on 12 and the little one is on 11. It’s club time but where now? Where do I go in Oxford at 11 o’clock you ask?
Well…some would describe Park End as a smutty, smorgasbord of super sexy students. Some wouldn’t. But then, again, it’s a question of taste. Unashamedly cheesed up to the max, this place plies the punters with cheap booze and rubbish music and they cannot seem to get enough.
Cowley Road’s Zodiac is a place where you can go and see music being performed live. It is unpretentious and is for people who take their music seriously. It also offers a pre-club bar behind the main club for those who want to get themselves in the mood.
The Bridge on Hythe Bridge Street is a bridge between sticky floored tacky, cheesy clubs and ultra-sleek and sexy super clubs. It bridges the gap between extreme wealth and those with £20 to spend on pay day. It provides a bridge between the pub and the kebab shop. Like a bridge over troubled waters, the Bridge will relieve you of your money in no time.
Oxford Brookes Union deserves a mention for the very popular Pleasuredome night on a Friday. Absolutely full of students as one would expect from a student union, if you like students then you will absolutely love this place. Cheap booze, good night out.
